An election, by mail, is to be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 for the purpose of electing the First Elected Member to serve on the Falmouth Retirement Board for a term that will commence on October 31, 2025 and run through the date of expiration on October 30, 2028.  All members in service, members inactive and retirees are eligible to vote.  On Friday, September 5, 2025, voting ballots with instructions will be mailed to the address on file with the Falmouth Retirement System.  Any member in service or retiree of the Falmouth Retirement System may qualify as a candidate by

The Falmouth Retirement Board unanimously voted to approve a Cost-of-Living Adjustment for FY 2026.  Effective July 1, 2025, a 3% Cost-of-Living Adjustment will be applied up to the first $16,000.00 of an eligible recipient’s annual retirement allowance.  The maximum amount an eligible recipient can receive is $40.00 per month.  Eligible recipients will be those who retired or began survivor benefits on or before June 30, 2024.  Eligible recipients will see this Cost-of-Living Adjustment with their direct deposit on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

The Falmouth Retirement Board has conducted a public application process for the position of Fifth Member to the Falmouth Retirement Board.  As of the application deadline, by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2024, there was only one applicant – the incumbent, Ellen K. Philbin.  Therefore, at its regular monthly board meeting held on May 16, 2024 with all four board members present, the Falmouth Retirement Board unanimously voted to re-appoint Ms.

At the request of the Falmouth Retirement Board, the Falmouth Town Meeting, with a quorum being present on Monday, April 10, 2023, voted unanimously to increase from $14,000.00 per year to $16,000.00 per year the maximum base amount upon which the annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for a retiree is calculated.  Said increase is to be effective on July 1, 2023.  The maximum amount an eligible recipient can receive is $40.00 per month.  Eligible recipients will see the increase to their cost-of-living adjustment with their direct deposit on July 31, 2023.
